Scoliosis is a condition in which a person’s spine curves sideways and is rotated – in either an S curve (double scoliosis) or a C curve. It often develops in the early teen years. Problems range from pain, stiffness and tension to more complex issues like problems with breathing. Scoliosis can be structural where the curve doesn’t move (it’s fixed) or functional (where the spine is normal but muscle imbalances cause a scoliosis-like shape).
Scoliosis is not something you have to live with. If it is minor or functional, we can treat it and prevent it from worsening by rectifying the imbalances surrounding the spine with treatment and appropriate rehab exercises. |
