Why I Love Being A ChiropractorIn my formative years, I was fortunate to have fitness prominent in my daily life. In my decade as a member of the Brazilian national swim team, I was supported by a highly capable team of chiropractors, osteopaths and physiotherapists.
They showed me how, with science, evidence and experience, you could quickly recover from injuries, prevent repetitive motion issues, and build a daily practice that gets you to your best performance. After my swim years, I embarked on my chiropractic journey. I applied the same formula that served me well in swimming – using systematic discipline to turn my passion for performance and wellbeing into becoming a chiropractor. After years of treating hundreds of people in Sydney CBD, Surry Hills and Darlinghurst, I had the opportunity to fulfil the dream of opening my own practice, and BACK UP was born. My goal as a chiropractor is to help restore musculoskeletal health and function to the spine and peripheral joints, with strong emphasis on biomechanics, and using a combination of chiropractic, physical therapy and myofascial release techniques, as well as exercises program to help my patients to achieve their goals Education & CredentialsI undertook rigorous education in how the body works and how to restore body movement and function. I studied five years at Macquarie University, in Sydney, earning a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Master of Chiropractic. After the completion of my Masters program, I was awarded the Gary Stavrou Award for proficiency in Chiropractic technique. While studying, I worked as a swim coach and personal trainer specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, strength and conditioning. I have been an active member of Chiropractic Australia since 2015. I am also an accredited dry needling and SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) practitioner. I continue to push the state-of-the-art via clinical experience, continual education and training, and keeping abreast of latest research. |
