The carpal tunnel is a narrow passage of ligaments, tendons and nerves at the base of the hand. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome occurs when the median nerve (which runs through your forearm into the palm of your hand) becomes trapped or compressed at the wrist joint due inflammation and thickening of the ligaments or tendons. This results in numbness, weakness and pain in the hands and wrist and also the forearm. Anything that can cause this swelling – injury, repetitive motion or even fluid retention – triggering Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Many people ignore it, mask it with medications, try to mitigate it with splints or braces, not realising that chiropractic care can resolve this. At Back Up, we determine the cause of your case and unwind the syndrome. |
